About Me
As I mentioned on the home page, I'm an Instructional Designer who enjoys providing solutions to training challenges. When I'm not working on learning solutions for work, you'll find me volunteering my services to non-profit organizations.
My volunteer efforts include co-teaching a program called Kids 4 Critters. This learning program in my community targets 4th grade students, teaching them the responsibility and rewards of pet ownership. In addition to teaching in the classroom, I also provide supplemental eLearning, multimedia, and social media resources to help enhance the experience and broaden the reach of the program.
I am also a certified pet therapy team with my dog, Colden. We visit local schools and libraries as part of a literacy program. Kids read to dogs to boost their confidence and encourage them to explore the worlds found in books. All while getting the love and attention of a friendly dog.
As an animal lover and advocate, I also volunteer at a local big cat sanctuary. I help to educate the public about the perils lions, tigers, and other wildcats face, here in America, as well in their natural environments. I have adopted one of the tigers at Carolina Tiger Rescue and enjoy getting to visit and offer enrichment to this majestic animal. In addition, I volunteer as an education assistant in summer camp and auction committee member for their fundraising events. I have been building some online learning materials and games to help with education and advocacy as well.

One other way I help wildcats and other animals in their native environments is by volunteering with WildTrack, a non-profit that helps with non-invasive wildlife monitoring. I help them to gather images of footprints of the cats at Carolina Tiger Rescue and process the images for use in analysis. In addition I educate visitors to the rescue about the process to promote citizen science.
As you might have gathered, I like to stay busy. I'm always open to offering my expertise and services where and when they are needed.
