Projects
Caring for Pets
As part of the Web Teaching course at East Carolina University, I created the Caring for Pets website as a compilation of different learning resources that complement and expand upon the topics included in the Kids 4 Critters (K4C) program.
The instruction is designed to complement the Kids 4 Critters program allowing those interested to explore further the topics presented in class and share that knowledge with family and friends. The project uses a variety of instructional media including digital video, screencasting, interactive multimedia, animation, and audio podcasts. Each resource targets specific learning objectives and is designed to be appealing to 4th graders while accessible to anyone.
Cybersecurity for Students: Think Before You Click
As part of Team D (Dynamic Digital Defenders) for a class project at East Carolina University, the challenge was to design and prototype a solution for a Community College to instruct students on cybersecurity risk and to develop better online habits. I was assigned the role of Lead Developer by the professor, but had to take on the role of Project Manager in order to get the team moving and stay on track. The projects were judged by a panel of educators and this one was chosen as the best.
About Black Bears
Inspired by a recent trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where I explored Alligator River Wildlife Refuge looking for black bears. Did you know that the Black Bears found in North Carolina are the biggest of all Black Bears in North America? Play a variety of games to find out more interesting facts about the Black bears that call eastern North Carolina home.
This game was created using Storyline 360.
